I guess I should blog once in a while about what’s going on with me which isn't much or new . I still help out at taekwondo as much as I can and go to school in the mornings.

Ashley is leaving for Seattle Washington on Tuesday.  Not sure when she will be back but they’re planning on being here for comic-con.

The only big thing that I have coming up is in December at Disneyland.

On December 5th a Saturday I will be singing with my church choir at Disneylands Candlelight.  On the first Saturday of December they have a night event where a guest host will narrate the story of Jesus and various choirs come together and sing songs through out the narration. Our choir went last year but I didn’t so this will be my first time there.

I sing Soprano (the top high notes) and have 13 songs to memorize, one in French and the last song we sing is Handels Messiah or a.k.a the “Alleluia Chorus”.

I’m excited and nervous at the same time. Our choir will be wearing the green robes coz after we walk down mainstreet holding our candles were arranged onstage in a certain order. Our church is arranged so we make up a Christmas tree complete with a star over our heads (cool we’re a live singing Christmas tree).

That’s about all that’s going in with me so far. I have rehearsals multiple days every week until then including one on my birthday tomorrow.

Is all that rehearsal time and work worth it? I think so. Opportunities like this doesn’t happen often especially performing at Disneyland.  What’s cool is that we get our own exclusive zip up hoodie, entrance and parking is free for us the day of the event and after our performance we get free reign of the park until they close (and they keep the park open late just for us). We also get 2 free tickets back to Disneyland good until next Dec.

So yeah, I’ll be busy memorizing music and preparing for Disney’s Candlelight until December.

If anyone’s curious about it you can watch clips of last years Candlelight on you tube. Search “Disneyland Candlelight Procession 2008 #1  make sure to view the first clip posted by “3catowner” since it's the only clip posted where you can get a CLEAR view of the procession down mainstreet. Then watch other clips from last year by ""mrdaps". in part 6 from mrdaps they're singing some songs more than 3x the speed than what were rehearsing and the songs are DIFFICULT to sing slow (Especially the 1st song) let alone super fast like in the clip gah!! OMG and I'm singing the high parts  ?! Help.....

A Kids Smile...

Even if you had an awful day, seeing a kids excited reaction to something as small a a free poster makes up for almost all the crap you felt before. Almost. During comic-con, Ashley, my cousins, Jerry and & have been getting whatever we can for the kids in his TKD class. Well it's been 2-3 weeks and only now are we distributing all that we got.

And we got a TON of stuff! Well, I guess it helps that some of the companies donated bags of pins and boxes of various posters, manga along with all the free stuff my sister, cousins etc... have been collecting during the week of con.

Since then Ashley (Thanks BTW) & I have been sorting through all the freebies and dividing it all up among all the class. The extra shirts we had were more challenging to distribute since we only got about 20 or so free shirts so of course we cant give it to everyone.

Anyways. We passed out the freebies to the kids today and a lost of them were so happy & grateful for it. Even the parents thought it was awsome of us for doing this for the kids. But really. Jerry & I really do what we can for those kids and seeing them smile makes our day.

There is something about seeing them excited for a simple poster is amusing and I don't know, it's just nice to see them happy.

Thats all I wanted to say about all that.

Fall semester begins on Monday. This is my only week for vacation and my cousin from Vegas and her family (haven't seen them in 6-7yrs)  are visiting this week so I've been hanging out with them when I can. They left today so I have yet to spend time to veg. out like I wanted to. Oh well. Good Night!

Boo no Sparring..

Erg yesterday was a disappointment. Our Imperial Beach location was suppose to have a couple of special events going on such as a guest Jujitsu instructor for our ladies and then there's our Sparring Invitational for a lil Spar Fest. But NOOOOOOO that never happened because some dick decided not to show up for work so the rec. center was closed. Ended up canceling the classes since it was freaking hot out and we didn't want to risk the kids health.

Yes I felt bad for telling all our guests that everything was cancelled especially for those who drove from far but this time it's not our fault. Freaking Rec. Center  We didnt go home right away, instead we stayed and called everyone in class along with more visitors to let them know about the cancellation. Gah! We had water, ice packs and everything prepared for today gr......

Anyways. rescheduled the event for Aug. 22 from 2-3:30. Hopefully something good happens then.

Other news Comic-Con is this week. Yippee! Time to nerd out  Yeah I'll be working my usual shift morning til 2 or 3 but sometimes it doenst feel like work and I get to meet interesting people. Since it's the 40th anniversary of the con this year we have TONS of good stuff going on. Horray for those attending and HAHA to those who can't. Hee hee, I hope to find out more at our mtg. today.

Alrity. I still need to get ready for church so aloha and I'll update eventually.

Concert - Fair - Food

Whoo hoo!! After 28 yrs I finally got to see my first concert! It was free with the hometown locals Switchfoot and it was AWSOME! Got to hear some new songs that's coming out of their new album this Fall and I enjoyed their remix to their "Only Hope" song (violin, cello and Sax = Sweet). Yup the concert was a nice highlight of the night.

Ok to back it up a bit I was finally able to enjoy a day at the SD County fair with Ashley and her buds Angel, Albert & Nadia. Did some shopping for the mom (I really wanna buy those mini frogs they had there) and OMG we ate a TON of food!!!

To get the basic idea of what we ate in ONE sitting was a plate of deep fried Zucchini & other veggies (mushrooms & artichokes) tried some deep fried oreo and smores. Angel had a zucchini corn dog, Ashley tried the oatmeal cookie sandwich (chicken patty between 2 cookies) while Nadia & I had our own plate FULL of 2 huge BBQ Ribs, fries & coleslaw. I can't remember what Albert ate but he did have something good. Also upon entering the fair we all shared 2 funnel cakes  (strawberry & bavarian cream drizzled in chocolate).

While waiting for the concert Angel, Albert & Ashley snacked on deepfried cheesecake, banana dipped in chocolate & nuts, chocolate fudge bar while I had my deep fried snickers. MMmmmmmMmmm

Did we eat a lot. yup yup! was it good. Heck yeah and I'd do it again

Of course we did more than just eat. Went on a few rides such as the crazy mouse, bumper cars & a cool fun house and tried winning a monkey in a banana plush. We did get a monkey but not the monkey in a banana like I wanted

Like I said the concert was awsome. I was actually tired when the day started but by the end of the concert I was hyper pumped up. We found a stall that sold hand painted oriental fans & umbrellas (you can personalize it with your name) of different sizes and the lady was entertained by us so we actually got a nice discount on our fans. Ash, my mom and I have fans and we bought an extra fan for my older sister for her bday next month. Both Ashley & Albert bought a medium size fan with a really nice scenery of mountains, cranes & waterfalls?

Overall the our day at the fair was fun. Ash and I didnt get home until midnight but it was worth it. Thanks everyone for making our time at the fair fun. Next year were gonna try that old western dress up alright

Ok. that's all I have to report on for now.  I was gonna blog about the promotion/party we had for our Imperial Beach location last Saturday but I'm still tired so maybe It'll be combined with a blog about our hike tomorrow. Till then Aloha!
